Books are not the only offerings at the Tuscarawas County Public Library System. The library will host a variety of free summer camps to be held across the county throughout the summer months. Registration for these camps is now open at the library system’s five locations. The camps, which will provide hands-on learning experiences for all ages, will run through Aug. 8.
“During the summer months, it’s a great time to learn a new skill and explore topics by attending day camps and week-long camps,” library director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell said. “This summer the county library will be offering some fun and informative camps for the community to enjoy.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in specialty programs and explore subjects like science, music, art, technology, building, genealogy and more. The camps, which will vary in length from one day to a weekly series, are for a variety of ages from baby camp to an adult genealogy camp.
“An aspect that sets apart the county library camps is that they are free. Camps can be expensive, especially when more than one member of the family wants to attend a camp,” Ramsell said. “The camps offered at our library system are not only fun and informative, but there is also no cost to attend.”
A complete listing of camps being offered this summer can be found in the library’s Between the Lines programming guide, which is available at the five library locations or on the library’s website at www.tusclibrary.org.
Registration for summer camps can be completed online by visiting the library’s event calendar at www.tusclibrary.org, by stopping into one of the county library system’s five locations or by calling one of the five locations.
