Fire Chief Jason Ely spoke about implementing volunteer and part-time staffing with minimum qualifications during the Strasburg Council meeting Feb. 4.

“We have placed a posting on the fire department’s website about hiring volunteers and part-time staffers. Kevin and Friend and Cassandra Dobransky, hired at a special meeting Jan. 23, have begun their orientation,” Ely said.

After the meeting Ely provided information about hiring volunteers and part-time staffers. There are eight qualifications for volunteers and seven for part-time staffers. Applications are available at the fire station, 125 Second St. NE, or email Ely at jely@villageofstrasburg.org. The information also is on the fire department’s website.
