The East Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met for a
regular meeting Friday, Aug. 15 at the Central Office.
The board did several things during the meeting:
—Approved the bus
routes for the 2025-26 school year as presented.
—Approved 259 open-enrollment students for the 2025-26 school
year.
—Approved contracts for four German
consultants for the 2025-26 school year.
—Approved the following to serve as
district representatives in IEP meetings to assure the provision of special education programs and services as specified
on a child’s IEP for the 2025-26 school year: Crystal Payne, Holmes County Board
of DD (Training Center); Kim Riley, Tri-County Preschool (Holmes);
and Kelly Luneborg, Buckeye Career Center.
—Approved the emergency operations plan for all buildings.
—Approved Hiland FFA to attend the
National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.
—Accepted the following resignations:
Elizabeth Alexander, girls varsity assistant soccer coach,
effective July 24; Olivia Blosser, aide at Flat Ridge, effective Aug. 5;
and Aaron Rossetti, science teacher at Hiland Junior High School, retiring at the end of
the 2024-25 contractual year.
—Approved all substitute personnel hired by East Holmes Local
Schools and the Tri-County Educational Service Center for the 2025-26 school year.
—Approved the following placements on the certified salary schedule, effective at the beginning of the 2025-26 contractual school year: Mark Hamsher
to Masters+20, Logan Camp to Masters+20, Tyler Cook to Masters+20 and Christina
Hostetler to Masters+35.
—Approved an amendment to the contract for Micki Krantz as assistant
superintendent of the East Holmes Local School District, with a revised contract term
effective Aug. 4, 2025, through July 31, 2028.
—Approved a $500 stipend for the teachers
who completed LETRS training professional development as a means
of meeting the criteria outlined by the Ohio Department of Education's Science of
Reading requirements.
—Approved the following supplemental
positions for the 2025-26 school year: Mark JoDon, junior
high boys soccer coach volunteer assistant; Courtney
Miller, cross country volunteer assistant; and Renita Neininger,
assistant marching band director/color guard.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 19 at the
Central Office.
