Zach Didinger loves people.

Zach Didinger loves breakfast.

Zach Didinger's TikTok show "Good Morning Foodies" continues to gain a rapid fanbase as he samples some wild and weird breakfast combinations.

Those two details spurred him to create the TikTok channel "Good Morning Foodies," a three- to five-minute show on TikTok he records each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The local banker found a way to combine those two passions into one TikTok venture that led him to attempt to set a Guinness World Record recently.

On Sunday, Aug. 24 at H15 Ministries in Millersburg, Didinger took a shot at building a record-breaking stack of waffles with the help of a few friends, his wife Alexis and a couple of waffle makers.

“It was National Waffle Day, so it felt perfect,” Didinger said. “But that only gave me a week and a half to prepare.”

A practice run prior to the event led to a stack of about 13 inches, and Didinger felt the record of 36.02 inches was attainable.

In the day of the record attempt, after reaching a stack of waffles of right around 22 inches, Didinger said it was obvious his attempt was going to fall short. Thus, he called off the effort, having failed to secure a world record.

“I made the recipe pretty thick because I felt that would help, but what happened was the weight of the waffles started to push the stack down and make it shorter,” Didinger said. “What I’ll need to do next time is make the recipe fluffier with crisper edges.”

Next time? The guy people on TikTok dub “Big Chef” or “Foodie” would expect nothing less than another all-out assault on the record.

He is more than ready for the challenge but must wait three months to apply again.

Zach Didinger's effort to break the world record in stacking waffles fell short but was a huge success on TikTok.

In the meantime, just like life within his TikTok channel, sometimes reaching the apex of the mountain is more about creating a buzz, along with making plenty of joy and excitement for others. While he didn’t reach the heights he wanted to attain, it was still a fascinating effort that was livestreamed on "Good Morning Foodies."

Didinger’s passion for food — breakfast food in particular — is something he enjoys sharing with others. His TikTok channel "Good Morning Foodies" has now surpassed 80 shows, and he continues to make progress in building a large following.

Didinger knows that when it comes to social media, few things rival connecting people with food, and that has captured the attention of a growing number of TikTok fans.

It is the interaction with his TikTok followers that drives Didinger to get creative, and he continues to search for more entertaining ways to get his fans involved with the show.

What exactly is "Good Morning Foodies?"

It is a show in which Didinger has a rotating slate of ingredients, a plethora of breakfast foods that are available as possible ingredients for his morning breakfast. How good is oatmeal combined with deviled eggs, hot sauce, caramel sauce, crab and mushrooms?

One might find the answer on "Good Morning Foodies."

It all depends on what numbers Didinger rolls each and every show, utilizing dice from a four-sided die to the D100 model that offers up to 100 different possibilities.

“I swap ingredients usually once a month,” Didinger said. “It’s a blast coming up with all of these different recipes by pure chance. I have received a lot of comments from fans, and businesses are starting to send me items to promote now.”

Not only does "Good Morning Foodies" create unique culinary breakfasts, but also Didinger likes to get his audience involved, inviting them to send in responses as to what each breakfast meal should be titled.

“I go through them all and pick out a winner that I think best exemplifies each combination,” Didinger said. “I love getting the fans involved.”

Didinger’s show combines his never-ending supply of playfulness, humor and creativity with a little ditty of background music, a recipe that has drawn fans from all over the U.S. and even in the United Kingdom.

He records each episode and then goes back and does voiceover work. He said it takes him approximately two hours to create a single show.

Does he ever create great combinations? He has, along with some that have made his toes curl.

Regardless, he never shies away from dining on whatever the dice-driven recipe presents, that latter actually providing more entertainment for the masses.

Complete with food, passion and fun, "Good Morning Foodies" is something Didinger would love to see grow to great heights. He has even allowed his 2-year-old daughter to provide some commentary, something he said was a huge hit, with fans even dubbing her “Little Chef.”

He said he is hoping to create a “stitch” opportunity where people can take a small piece of his video and respond with short videos of their own.

“It’s about the interaction and entertainment,” Didinger said.

Perhaps his biggest joy has been hearing his daughter doing some impromptu voiceover work in another room.

“She was playing with a light at someone’s house the other day by herself,” Didinger said. “There was a light with a stand, and I hear her say, ‘Good morning foodies.’ She was playing a blogger from my channel. It kind of melted my heart.”

Who knows? Maybe "Little Chef" will follow her dad to great heights one day.

For now the two will simply enjoy delivering a slice of delicious — and maybe not so delicious — breakfast fare for the TikTok masses.
