Walsh University President Tim Collins has been elected vice chair of the NCAA Division II Executive Board for a one-year term beginning in January 2026. The appointment, announced by the NCAA Division II Executive Board, highlights Collins’ ongoing leadership and commitment to advancing collegiate athletics and enhancing the student-athlete experience.
The Division II Executive Board, composed of 13 voting members — including nine presidents and chancellors, two student-athletes and two independent representatives — serves as the governing body for Division II athletics. The board oversees the division’s strategic direction, operating plan and long-range budget, ensuring alignment with the NCAA’s mission to foster academic and athletic excellence.
Collins, who also represents the Midwest Region on the board, will serve alongside newly elected chair Sandra Woodley, president of the University of Texas Permian Basin. Both leaders will begin their terms following the 2026 NCAA Convention in January.
In addition to electing new leadership, the board recently approved a six-year operating plan and long-range budget extending through 2031–32, focused on academics, athletics, health and wellness, governance, and operations and positioning. These measures are designed to sustain Division II’s mission and support continued growth across its more than 300 member institutions.
Collins’ election as vice chair reaffirms Walsh University’s active role in NCAA Division II governance and provides an opportunity to further elevate the university’s reputation on the national stage. His leadership within this national organization underscores Walsh’s commitment to excellence in athletics, academics and student development.
Under his leadership, Walsh has strengthened its commitment to holistic student development, academic innovation and the integration of faith and reason — values that align closely with the NCAA Division II philosophy of personal growth, service and community.
