Repairs underway on Sippo Lake Park bridge with community support
Repairs are underway on the bridge at Sippo Lake Park’s Exploration Gateway following damage caused by a fire on March 25. Construction began Aug. 25 and is expected to be completed by mid-September, weather permitting. The contractor for the project is Red Sun Construction LLC.
The project has been made possible through strong community support. The Home Depot Foundation awarded more than $16,000 in materials for the repair and provided volunteers from Team Depot on Aug. 23 to help prepare the site for contractors. Additional funding and support came from the Friends of Stark Parks, the Stark County Ski Club, the Perry Rotary Club, Perry Grange, Kimble and individual donors. Donations can still be made to the Friends of Stark Parks at starkparks.com/friends/how-to-donate/ to help with project costs.
Stark Parks extends sincere thanks to these partners and community members for their generosity and commitment to ensuring the bridge remains a safe and welcoming feature of Sippo Lake Park.
Stark Parks manages 15 parks, four lakes, four historic properties and more than 120 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails, totaling more than 6,800 acres of land. For more information, visit starkparks.com.
