Library program to highlight Revolutionary War veterans of Harrison County
The information comes from Volume 1 of a series published in 2000 by the Ebenezer Zane Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution
Susan Morris Adams of the Harrison County Genealogical Society will present a program on Revolutionary War veterans who settled in what is now Harrison County at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Puskarich Public Library, 200 E. Market St, Cadiz.
The information comes from Volume 1 of a series published in 2000 by the Ebenezer Zane Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
The goal of the book was to recognize, remember and honor all soldiers and other patriots of the American Revolution who contributed to America’s freedom from England.
A major portion of the book is devoted to the Revolutionary War veterans themselves. It includes information about their families, burial places and when and where they served.
Researchers identified 108 veterans and continue searching for others who may have been missed or for whom there is not yet enough information to prove service.
These men and women helped shape the history and character of the region.
Jim Thompson of the Harrison County Historical Society and the Ebenezer Zane Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will attend in patriot uniform.
There is no charge to attend.
