Harrison Central honors girls soccer seniors
Patterson scores lone goal in Lady Huskies' 1-0 win
The Harrison Central Lady Huskies competed in yet another busy week with three games, with the first against Edison taking place at Wagner Field in Cadiz.
Prior to the game, the Harrison Central senior players were recognized, walking across the field with members of their respective families. This year's seniors include Grace Miller, Hayden Bittinger, Emma Patterson and Leanna Scott.
Prior to the half, Patterson fought her way past the defense to score on an assist from Morgan Stock. Harrison Central’s defense was able to hold the Wildcats scoreless from there, capping off Patterson and the seniors' special night with the 1-nil win.
Patterson, a captain and playing her fourth year, was named player of the match. Lillianne Smith added seven saves to her yearly total.
Harrison Central then faced Indian Creek (3-10) in an OVAC match and dropped a 6-0 decision. The Lady Huskies had five shots on goal, three from Amelia Puskarich, one from Patterson and one from Bittinger. Smith added nineteen saves to her total.
The Huskies traveled to East Liverpool for a match on Potters Field Oct. 9 and were blanked 4-0. Smith racked up 28 saves.
The Huskies traveled to Philo on Oct. 15 for a first-round sectional tournament match.
