The Harrison Central golf team teed off its 2025 season Aug. 4 at River Greens and has stayed busy with early-season outings at Steubenville, Highland Springs, the Buckeye 8 first round, Spring Hills and Minerva. Play will resume Aug. 19 at Buckeye Local.
This year's varsity roster features two juniors and six freshmen: Logan Johnson (11), Cash Meadows (11), Andy Hendershot (9), Jensen Howell (9), Evan Johnson (9), Neely Ryder (9), Ella Smith (9) and Jax Triplett (9).
The team lost two key graduates from 2024 — Nash Roberts and Kaily Banal — both East District First Team selections and multiple-time district qualifiers.
“The new golf season brings with it great change,” Head Coach Todd Dunlap said. “Only one player from last year's varsity team remains on the roster this season. He is two-time letterwinner Logan Johnson. The only other golfer with varsity experience is Cash Meadows. The rest of the roster will be made up of the incoming freshmen.”
“In the early season events, we are showing signs of our youth, but we are continuing to improve and with such a young team, the future is bright,” Dunlap said.
