Huskies prepare for tournament opener at Union Local
The Harrison Central boys soccer team hosted East Liverpool on Oct. 7. The Potters came in having shut out five opponents in a row, and the Huskies were victim No. 6 in a 2-0 setback to EL.
Greyson Fitch was the lone scorer for East Liverpool and he hit the net twice, once in each half, for the final score that made the Huskies' losing streak reach five. HC keeper Brady McAfee reeled in 10 saves.
Senior Husky players were recognized prior to the teams taking the field, including Gage Dombroski, the late Zane Carson, Cooper Thompson, Brady Moss, Brady McAfee, Hunter Fulton, Ben Giffin and Jake Evans.
On Thursday the Huskies tried their luck on the road at Steubenville, but the Big Red poured in four first-half goals en route to a 6-0 win. McAfee managed eight saves in goal.
Harrison Central was set to travel to Union Local to take on the Jets in a first-round tournament game on Thursday, Oct. 16. The Huskies split the series with Union Local during regular-season play, winning 1-0 and losing 4-3.
