Anyone interested in being part of the GhostBox Productions play, “The Secret Garden,” will have an opportunity Sunday, Jan. 18 to learn more about the musical and the available roles and to take part in exploring some of the music.

Attendees also will hear about the schedule and auditions and will be able to learn some of the dialogue to prepare for auditions. Youth age 10-15 may audition for the roles of Mary and Colin, and an adult cast (age 16 and up) also is needed.

Mary Yaw McMullen, one of the directors of the musical, said “The Secret Garden” is the first main-stage show for GhostBox Productions.

“The goal behind holding the workshop is to provide information and preparation in advance for people to feel comfortable and confident while auditioning,” she said. “It is exciting to have the opportunity to share about the show prior to the audition process. It allows us to gauge interest and helps those auditioning feel prepared.”

McMullen said they will share audition selections for the dialogue and music, as well as general information about the production.

Anyone interested in attending the workshop can let the directors know through the Facebook event page but do not have to make a reservation. For more information about the workshop, email ghostboxprod@gmail.com.

The workshop will be held from 2-4 p.m. at Clary Gardens. Auditions for the play will be held Saturday, Feb. 21 from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 from 2-4 p.m. The performance will be July 9-11 and July 16-17. The production will be directed by Graham Beaumont and Mary Yaw McMullen.
