The roundabout at Skip’s Landing recently opened, completing phase one of the project there.

“The contract date for completion was Nov. 28, so we are more than a week ahead of schedule on phase one,” said Mary Beck, administrator/project manager for the Coshocton County Commissioners.

Phase two includes park improvements.

“We have already begun work on the boat ramp and parking lot for the two farmers market open-air buildings,” Beck said. “We will continue with the earthwork for the playground and fitness areas, as well as another parking lot and wildflower flats on the other side of the road.”

No additional road closures in the area are anticipated at this time.

“Work on phase two has already begun with an anticipated finish date of July 3, 2026,” Beck said.

So far feedback on the improvements in the Skip’s Landing area have been overwhelmingly positive.

“The commissioners have expressed their satisfaction with the progress and believe the Skip’s Landing Project will become an important and valuable asset for residents of Coshocton County,” Beck said.

Funding for these projects is part of the Governor’s Appalachian Regional Commission $500 million set aside for transformational projects in the 32 Appalachian counties in Ohio.

“There were $1.8 billion requested from all Appalachian counties, and Coshocton was lucky enough to be funded in the amount of $6.7 million,” Beck said.
