Ridgewood's Aadon Slaughter shines at state
Junior wrestler achieves 100th win and competes in OHSAA Division III State Tournament
Ridgewood junior Aadon Slaughter put together an impressive 2025-26 wrestling season, earning a trip to the 2026 OHSAA Division III State Tournament at 150 pounds. Slaughter capped off his season with a 43-13 record while reaching a major career milestone — his 100th victory.
Throughout the season Slaughter consistently proved himself as one of the top competitors in the area and was the only county wrestler to qualify for the state tournament. He captured tournament titles at the Hillsdale Invitational, Heath Invitational and the sectional tournament, showcasing his consistency on the mat.
At the state tournament, Slaughter faced a tough lineup, with his two losses coming against returning state champion Edward Kessen of Delphos St. John and returning state placer Colton Morris of Northwestern.
With a state appearance, multiple tournament championships and a 100-win milestone already under his belt, Slaughter’s junior campaign stands out as a significant achievement and sets the stage for an exciting senior season ahead.
