Mrs. Roper’s Romp is coming to the Lake Park Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 7-10 p.m. in honor of that loopy lady from the TV sitcom “Three’s Company.”
"This is the first one ever held in Coshocton," said Tammi Rogers director at Lake Park. “They are having them all over the nation."
Rogers and Jesse Tubbs brainstormed the idea and thought this would be a fun event for the pavilion. The event is intended to raise money for a floor replacement inside the pavilion.
"We enlisted the help of Sherry Kirkpatrick and Stacey Ganz,” Rogers said. “It's going to be a night of silly fun in a '70s decor. We will have raffles, shadow dancing, and we might do the limbo. Come and have a great time dressed like Mrs. Roper. Mrs. Roper is what's going to make it. I can't wait to see a couple hundred Mrs. Ropers. Make sure your hair and makeup are done, dressed in a moo moo with some gaudy jewelry and big sunglasses. Or you can be Jack, Chrissy, Janet or any of the other characters."
There will be a cash bar courtesy of Friends of the Museum, raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing and light snacks for a fee while listening to music from the '70s. The stage will resemble the living room from the “Three’s Company” set, and the cash bar will be called the Reagle Beagle.
"As we nail down more details, we will know who is donating different raffle baskets,” Rogers said. “Coshocton’s favorite bartender Rick VanSickle will be at the bar, and we are happy to have him. It's going to be a super-fun night.”
The estimated price to replace the floor at the pavilion is about $100,000. Admission to the event is $20 per person.
