Michael W. Smith and That Arena Rock Show returning to Kent State Tuscarawas PAC

Beloved Christian artist and high-energy rock tribute band to perform in New Philadelphia in early 2025.

The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas announced two new shows coming to New Philadelphia, both making their third appearance at the venue.

Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith will bring his Beyond Horizon tour Thursday, April 16 while That Arena Rock Show will rock the best “hair band” hits Saturday, Jan. 10. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m.

Smith has been releasing new music regularly and performing around the world to sold-out crowds for the last 40-plus years. During his career he’s written and recorded over 36 No. 1 songs, been bestowed with three Grammy Awards, over 45 Dove Awards, one American Music Award, was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and has sold more than 15 million albums.

Smith also has given back to the global community throughout his career. He has raised funds to battle AIDS in Africa; started Rocketown, a safe haven for young people in Tennessee to meet and find hope; and has helped more than 70,000 children through Compassion International.

That Arena Rock Show is a tribute to classic rock 'n' roll. Performing rock anthems that ruled the airwaves in the '70s and '80s, the band covers artists like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses and more.

Tickets for both shows start at $20 and are on sale at the Performing Arts Center box office, by calling 330-308-6400 or by visiting www.kent.edu/tuscpac. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Free parking is available for all shows. The Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of Kent State Tuscarawas, 330 University Drive NE, New Philadelphia.
