This competitive award, granted through the OAC’s Sustainability Program, will support the museum’s operational needs and strengthen its ability to deliver quality cultural and educational programming to the community.

The Ohio Arts Council, established in 1965, works to foster the development of the arts and preserve Ohio’s cultural heritage. Funded by the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists, arts organizations, schools, and other cultural entities, enriching Ohio culturally, educationally, and economically.

The OAC’s Sustainability grants support ongoing arts and cultural activities across all genres. These awards provide consistent and flexible funding to organizations of all sizes, helping ensure that residents and visitors have access to high-quality artistic experiences. For FY 2026–2027, the OAC awarded 558 grants totaling $18,119,370, underscoring its broad impact across the state.

The new OAC award will fund nearly six percent of the museum’s annual operating budget of $200,000. Additional major revenue sources include the Coshocton Public Library ($65,000), the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum Foundation ($70,000), and the Friends of the Museum ($35,000).
