A ribbon cutting was
held Sept. 9 to celebrate the new location and expansion of Johanna’s Bistro, now at 628 Walnut St. in Coshocton.
“We are super-excited
to be here,” said Amy Crown, executive director of the Coshocton County Chamber
of Commerce. “Every ribbon cutting is an investment into our community. This
new location is absolutely beautiful and incredible.”
The restaurant is named
after operator Julio Rios’ mother and now offers both Latino dishes and
American favorites.
“I’m very happy with
this menu,” Rios said. “Our food takes longer, but that is because we don’t
prep anything. We make everything at the moment and serve the freshest food.”
The restaurant also
will offer drink specials, live entertainment and an outdoor patio that will
be ready for next summer.
“We are going to have
good service, good food and good entertainment,” Rios said.
The restaurant was
previously located on Sixth Street in Coshocton for about a year and a half,
but this location offers better parking.
“It feels so good to be
in this town,” Rios said. “We’ve made a lot of friends here, and people in
Coshocton seem happy to have us here. Thank you for allowing us to be another
option.”
Johanna’s Bistro is
open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and closed
Mondays.
Mayor Mark Mills
encouraged the community to come try Johanna’s Bistro.
“This space to me is
something old turned into something new,” Mills said. “It’s unbelievable what
it looks like in here. I’m excited for new dining options and can’t wait to see
the live entertainment.”
Hannah Gallagher from
the Coshocton Port Authority also welcomed Rios and his team.
“Thank you for choosing
Coshocton and bringing a variety of food options here,” she said. “It’s nice to
have options, and this is a beautiful space. I’m happy for you.”
Rios thanked everyone
for their support.
“This is just the
beginning,” Rios said. “We are going to make sure the food tastes good and the
drinks are nice.”
