Genesis earns 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog Group
National watchdog recognizes Genesis HealthCare System for strong performance in preventing errors, infections and injuries
Genesis HealthCare System earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns grades to hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“Our team is committed to providing high-quality health care,” said Scott Wegner, M.D., chief medical officer at Genesis HealthCare System. “Earning an ‘A’ grade for Patient Safety from The Leapfrog Group reaffirms our efforts that benefit patients who rely on us to help them get well. We are pleased to be recognized for this achievement.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
