Firefighters’ Toy Chest collecting toys for local children in need
Community asked to donate new, unwrapped toys or funds as program prepares to assist families ahead of Dec. 15 deadline
Each year the Coshocton County Firefighters’ Toy Chest collects new, unwrapped toys for low-income families in the community.
Laura Drake, one of the organizers of the toy chest, said last year more than 400 children received toys.
“So far it’s looking pretty close to the same for this year," she said.
Drake said the children are asking for a little bit of everything, so all types of toys would be gladly accepted.
The toys must be new and cannot be wrapped when dropped off. Monetary donations also are accepted.
Toys can be dropped off at the Coshocton Fire Department on Seventh Street or at the Walhonding Valley Fire District on Bridge Street in Warsaw. Monetary donations can be mailed to Toy Chest, P.O. Box 133, Coshocton, OH 43812. Donations will be accepted until Monday, Dec. 15.
