Letter From Sally
Don't be afraid to face the future
A survivor shares hope and encouragement for women facing diagnosis and the journey ahead
These last two Letters from Sally have been about my breast cancer journey and the people who helped me throughout it.
There were lots of people who came and went, but God has stayed with me throughout the whole journey and beyond.
This paragraph is being written for someone who doesn’t have the network of family and friends I had, someone who suspects something is abnormal. Maybe you’ve felt a lump. Maybe you’ve never had a mammogram. Maybe you just want to ignore it, rather than face the future alone.
I’m here to tell you there are people who will go with you to have a mammogram and to have a doctor’s visit before or after you do that.
My last message is for some woman whose self-image is centered around the size of her bust. I’m sorry if that’s the case for you. It never was for me. We are so much more than that. Besides, I do have nice legs for an 82-year-old.
