Coshocton Christian School honors veterans at home basketball opener
Ceremony features Honor Guard, student tributes and special recognition at center court
Coshocton Christian School honored the veterans Nov. 18 at the home opener basketball game. Honor guard members Larry Lusk, Rick Cullison, Ed Skerness and Tom Dile performed the ceremony.
"Tonight we are glad to honor our veterans," said Sam Brown, coach for the CCS boys basketball team. "We wanted an opportunity to recognize them and honor them here tonight. We asked our students to invite family and friends who serve or have served. We are very pleased to have our Coshocton Honor Guards here with us to present the colors, and we are glad to honor them as our guests here. We are thankful as a school. We are very thankful for our country, thankful for our community, very thankful for the men and women who served to protect those freedoms that are so important to us."
Edna Evans led the singing of the national anthem and invited all veterans in the audience to join them in center court.
