The Coshocton Boxing Club participated in a tournament Oct. 25 at Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro, Virginia. The event was presented by Gottardi Boxing Gym, named after the late Bill Gottardi and owned by Dallas Brewer, formerly of Coshocton.

Coshocton Boxing Club members who performed in the competition included Zander Spring, Mobius Williams and Montara Johnson, along with coach Tylar Keith.

Brewer formerly owned and operated the Coshocton Boxing Club before moving to Waynesboro. The club is now owned by Tylar Keith, who has been a part of the boxing club for the last 21 years and took ownership in 2016.

Williams' record is 9-1. Unfortunately, he lost due to an injury. Johnson won to a unanimous decision. His record is 7-0. Spring lost by a split decision.

Local residents Candy and Jay Tarman were invited to the event by Brewer because Jay was an original boxer who fought under Bill Gottardi at the Coshocton Boxing Club.

"Jay was a four-times Golden Glove Champion, and attending this event really meant a lot to him," Candy Tarman said.
