Conspiracy theories have been a
part of American life and seemingly more so now. I remember growing up on the
tail end of the McCarthy Era when the senator accused all Jews of being
Communists, causing what was known as the “Red Scare.” “All actors” out of
Hollywood were trying to undermine American youth. This actually influenced
American foreign policy for decades.
It is interesting how these things take
hold. Obi Wan Kenobi would say, “The Force is most effective on the weak-minded.” Sadly, it just takes people
repeating them with conviction for a rumor to take hold.
The Kennedy assassination and how
he is alive on the 13th floor of a Dallas hospital, the Earth is really
flat, and the moon landing was actually filmed on the back lot of Hollywood — all
come up from time to time.
I would like to mention some of
the newer ones that seem so far-fetched but, when repeated frequently, have taken hold in our culture: Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy, Bill Ayers writing
Obama’s memoir of “Dreams from my Father,” the false claim of fraud in the 2012
election, Obama supporting ISIS and Obama secretly controlling the Biden
Administration.
Bill and Hillary Clinton starting
the Obama birther conspiracy, the Clinton body count conspiracy, Epstein’s
murder was conducted by Bill Clinton, Pizza-gate portraying the Clintons as
pedophiles, suicide of Vince Foster, murder of Seth Rich, Uranium One
controversy, and finally that Hilary meets in secret with international banks
to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty.
Ted Cruz being involved in the
Kennedy assassination through his father and that he is related to Lee Harvey
Oswald.
Joe and Hunter Biden involved in
the Ukraine conspiracy, Biden and Obama staged the killing of Osama bin Laden
and then killed all the members of Seal team six to cover it up, Hunter Biden
laptop and China business dealings, Joe Biden being controlled by people you
have never heard of, Hunter Biden actively using cocaine, Biden Administration
being willing to kill Trump, claims of weather manipulation during the 2024
Atlantic hurricane season, Biden bribing the media, claims that Biden died in
2020 and was replaced by a clone.
Kamala Harris is not really a U.S.
citizen, Justin Trudeau is the son of Cuban Fidel Castro, Paul Pelosi attack
was staged, Ruth Ginsburg's death was staged, Jan. 6 was patriotic, Epstein files are falsified, Antifa,
The Deep State, anarchists, Russian interference.
Robert Mueller; 2016, 2020,
2024 election fraud; corrupt science, medicine and statistics; national,
ethnic, religious and racial conspiracies; wealthy funders of protests; George
Soros; terrorism and on and on and on.
It is exhausting, this ongoing litany of
false narratives to distract. Of course we can find elements of just enough
truth to confuse us.
Gifted magicians amaze and delight
their audiences by distracting them just enough that what they do in the way of
a trick looks miraculous. Some would say unbelievable. You need to ask yourself, “Why am I being distracted?”
