Bonna’s Beautiful Beginnings opens in Coshocton

Bonna Straits is excited to share her love of designing with customers and create custom fresh flower and silk arrangements for all occasions.

Straits started Bonna’s Beautiful Beginnings on July 26 out of her home at 28599 state Route 83 in Coshocton.

“I like being creative and doing something different,” she said. “No two designs are the same. Different people like different things.”

Straits encourages customers to bring her pictures of their visions, and she will help make their dreams come true for special occasions like weddings, homecomings and proms. She also can deliver orders and tries to have price options to meet everyone’s budgets.

Prior to opening her own shop, Straits worked at The Posey Pad in Millersburg and the former Linnet’s Flowers in Coshocton, where she was able to explore her creative side.

To help introduce people to her new shop, she will host a Pumpkin Palooza on Friday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be custom design fall décor, homemade soy wax melts, fall refreshments and more.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, Straits will host a make it, take it workshop featuring a fall watering can with fresh flowers. The class will be held from 3-6 p.m. at her shop. Future classes are being organized for October and November and will be held at Clark Community Center in Clark.

“I’m going to keep them simple so everybody can do them,” Straits said. “You don’t need any experience. I’ll have everything all set up for you, and then you get to take it home to enjoy and know that you created it. There is no one way to design. Everybody can make theirs different.”

She is thankful for her family’s support during this new business adventure.

“They’ve all played a part in this,” Straits said.
