3 transported after Millcreek Township accident

Three people were taken to the hospital after a vehicle left the roadway, struck a mailbox and guardrail, and went over an embankment on state Route 83 on Jan. 3.

On Jan. 3 at 10:08 a.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a motor vehicle accident with possible injury in the 33000 Block of state Route 83 in Millcreek Township.

Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined 22-year-old male Andrew Gingerich of Fresno and his passengers — 23-year-old female Ellane Gingerich of Coshocton and a juvenile — were traveling south on state Route 83 when Andrew Gingerich failed to negotiate a curve. Andrew Gingerich went off the right side of the roadway, struck a mail box and then struck the guardrail.

After striking the guardrail, Andrew Gingerich’s vehicle went airborne and over an embankment. Andrew Gingerich, Ellane Gingerich and the juvenile were transported from the scene of the accident by Coshocton County EMS to Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg. The extent of their injuries is unknown at the time of this release. This incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
