Two passengers injured in early-morning crash; driver later arrested pending charges

On Dec. 31 at 1:15 a.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s
Office received a call of a motor vehicle accident with possible injury near
the area of Township Road 280 and state Route 83 in Franklin Township.
Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined Christopher Gallagher of Coshocton, a 27-year-old male, and
his passengers — Isabella Gallagher of Coshocton, a 19-year-old female; Sandy Brown of Coshocton, a 33-year-old female; and Nikita Atkins of
West Lafayette, a 32-year-old male — were traveling northeast on Township Road 280 from state Route 83 when Christopher
Gallagher failed to control the vehicle. Christopher Gallagher went off the left side of the roadway, over an embankment
and struck a tree. The vehicle then
continued down the embankment before sticking another tree and coming to a
stop.

fled the scene of the accident prior to emergency personnel arrival. Atkins and Brown were both
transported from the scene of the accident by Coshocton County EMS to Coshocton
Regional Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was unknown at the time
of this release.

Gallagher were later located at their residence on Township Road 283. Isabella Gallagher was assessed by Coshocton
County EMS and refused transport to the hospital. Christopher Gallagher was transported by Coshocton
County EMS to Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Upon release from the hospital, Christopher Gallagher was placed under arrest and pending charges upon prosecutor
review.
Assisting on scene were Coshocton County EMS, Conesville Volunteer
Fire Department, Coshocton City Fire Department and Princes Wrecker
Service.
