Neighbor2Neighbor drive seeks hygiene item donations
A new countywide effort is inviting residents, businesses and organizations to help meet a growing need for basic hygiene items
A new countywide effort is inviting Carroll County residents, businesses and organizations to help meet a growing need for basic hygiene items. The Neighbor2Neighbor Hygiene Item Drive is organized by the Carroll County General Health District.
The drive began after the health district placed free community resource boxes in five locations across the county. Through a partnership with the United Way of Greater Stark County, the boxes serve as mini supply stations where anyone can take essential hygiene items and other helpful supplies at no cost.
Items available through the boxes include toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, tissues, formula, prenatal vitamins and naloxone.
Since September 2025, nearly 1,000 hygiene items have been distributed through the community resource boxes, highlighting the ongoing need for these supplies. Additional donations are needed to keep the boxes stocked and to support local families.
“This drive is about keeping our community healthy and supporting one another,” said Kelly Morris, health commissioner. “By taking care of each other, we make our county stronger and showcase the strong culture of neighbors helping neighbors that our community is known for.”
Donations collected through the drive will be distributed directly to Carroll County residents, with a portion used to stock the free community resource boxes at these locations: Augusta Township Park, 3117 Aurora Road NE, Carrollton; Brown Township Office, 200 Grant St., Malvern; Carroll County General Health District, 301 Moody Ave. SW, Carrollton; Southeast Healthcare, 611 High St. NW, Carrollton; and Kilgore Community Center, 7122 Germano Road SE, Carrollton.
The drive is accepting new, unopened hygiene items including deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, loofahs, bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, socks, baby wipes or body wipes, combs, brushes and laundry baskets.
Donated items can be dropped off at the lower level of the Carroll County General Health District, 301 Moody Ave. SW, Carrollton. Additional collection sites will be announced.
Community members also may donate, host a donation drive or give through the Amazon registry at www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/8OTR2LCSG8SE.
