Hope in Ohio event to focus on suicide prevention
The event is hosted by the ADAMHS Board of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties
Community members are invited to attend the Hope in Ohio: Carroll County Suicide Prevention Community Conversation on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carrollton Senior Center (Friendship Center), 100 Kensington Road NE.
The free public event will bring together state and local leaders, behavioral health professionals, community partners and residents to discuss the impact of suicide in Carroll County, raise awareness of prevention efforts, share available resources and gather feedback to help inform future local priorities.
The event is hosted by the ADAMHS Board of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, as part of the statewide Hope in Ohio initiative.
“Suicide is a complex public health issue that affects individuals, families and communities across Carroll County,” said Natalie Bollon, ADAMHS board director. “This community conversation creates space for open dialogue, learning and collaboration, helping ensure that suicide prevention efforts reflect the strengths, needs and voices of our local community.”
The community conversation will include:
Presentations on suicide prevention and mental health efforts at the state and local level
Panel discussions with community and system partners
Opportunities for attendees to share feedback and identify local needs and gaps
Resource tables connecting individuals and families to local and regional supports
Light refreshments will be provided. The event is open to the public.
