The Apple Creek Banking Company announced the appointment of Matthew Long to its board of directors.

Long is an attorney with Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston Ltd., where he serves as chair of the firm’s real estate department. His practice is dedicated to advising clients with nationwide real estate and investment portfolios, construction businesses, and institutional property owners operating campuses and multi-office facilities.

“Matthew brings a distinguished background in real estate law, corporate governance and community investment that will be a tremendous asset to the bank and communities it serves,” said Leo J. Miller, president and CEO of The Apple Creek Banking Company. “His values, passion, knowledge and commitment to our local communities directly align with our mission of being a strong, independent community bank.

"A strong board makes a strong bank, and Matthew’s addition brings further depth to an already dedicated and community-focused board.”

Long brings board and fiduciary experience to The Apple Creek Banking Company, having chaired and served as a director of numerous local nonprofit, corporate and private family trust companies. His work encompasses oversight of risk management, compliance, audit and long-term stewardship in regulated industries.

Long also is a co-managing member of a closely held real estate investment business active in the redevelopment of the Wooster community and serves as an officer and director of his family’s business, Wooster Glass Company Inc.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Matthew onto The Apple Creek Banking Company Board of Directors,” said Chad Boreman, chairman of the board. “His experience, perspective and community engagement will be an invaluable resource for our bank’s continued success. The board of directors is looking forward to working with Matthew.”

Long and his wife Lynette reside in Wooster with their son Henry. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys travel, time outdoors and reading.
