Dover Public Library highlights Ohio manufacturing
This month, local history librarian Kim Jurkovic will curate two displays
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, the Dover Public Library is continuing its series highlighting Ohio’s contributions to industry and manufacturing through display cases at the library.
This month, local history librarian Kim Jurkovic will curate two displays. The vestibule display case at the front entrance will feature Tuscarawas County’s contributions to manufacturing, including items from Marlite and Greer Steel, as well as items donated by the Reeves Museum. A smaller display case in the adult department will feature books from the library’s local history room highlighting some of Ohio’s best-known companies, including Velvet Ice Cream and Goodyear Tire.
The library thanked the Reeves Museum for its assistance with the displays and reminded the public about its program, America 250: The History of Manufacturing in Tuscarawas County, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m.
For more information about the display, upcoming programs and events related to America 250, contact the library at 330-343-6123 or doverlibrary.org. The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N. Walnut St., Dover.
