The City of Dover Parks and Recreation Department has announced its 2026 adult and youth activities schedule.

The Dover pool will open for the season May 23, weather permitting. The pool will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $3 per person. A 12-punch swim pass is available for $30. Punch passes can be purchased at the pool or park office.

Swim lesson dates and times are to be determined.

Swimming pool reservations tentatively begin May 11 for the season. Reservations will be taken at the Parks and Recreation office during regular business hours. Individuals, families or groups may rent the pool any evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Pool rental dates will be announced later. Rental fees are due at the time of reservation. Rentals are limited to one per person and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Basketball camp is open to boys and girls in grades three through six for the upcoming school year. The camp will be held July 27-29 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on the outdoor courts in the park. The camp director is Dover basketball coach Matt VonKaenel. The fee is $30.

Football camp will be held June 22-24 from 10 a.m. to noon. The camp is open to students in grades one through eight for the upcoming school year and will be conducted by the Dover varsity football staff and members of the 2026 varsity team. The camp is free.

Tennis lessons will be offered for students ages 5-17 by Kevin Knoch, tennis professional. The first session will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 2-18, and the second session will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 7-23. All groups must have a minimum of four registrations.

Start/Restart Tennis is offered for adults ages 18 and older by Kevin Knoch. Sessions will be held Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 18 and 25 and July 2, 9 and 16. The cost is $55 per person or $100 per couple. A minimum of four participants is required.

Cheerleading camp will be held June 22-24 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The camp will be conducted by Courtney Rees, high school cheerleading coach, and Dover High School cheerleaders. The camp is open to students in grades one through six for the upcoming school year. The fee is $35.

Dance camp will be held June 8-10 from 9 to 11 a.m. The camp will be taught by the Dance Force and held outside Dover Middle School. The camp is open to students in grades one through six for the upcoming school year. The fee is $35.

Soccer camp will be offered to students in grades kindergarten through six for the current school year and will be instructed by John Loffredo, president of the Dover Soccer Association. The camp will be held June 1-4. Campers must wear shin guards and bring a soccer ball. The fee is $45.

Picnic shelter reservations begin on the first working day of each year. Four shelters in Dover City Park are available for rent for family reunions, picnics and other events from May 23 through Sept. 13. The fee for half a shelter, which seats 45-50 people, is $15. An entire shelter, which seats 90-100 people, rents for $25. Reservations can be made at the Parks and Recreation office. The shelter along the pool road is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
