Medina Odd Fellows Halloween Bash returns for third year
Oct. 25 fundraising event features live music, casino games and costume contests to support Special Olympics and local charities
The Medina Odd Fellows Halloween Bash and Costume Contest is back for its third year, continuing its tradition as one of Medina County’s premier 21-and-over events — and as a major fundraiser for local causes.
Founded in 1844, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Morning Star Lodge 26 has long supported individuals, families and charitable organizations across the county. Thanks to community support, the Halloween Bash has become the group’s largest fundraising event of the year.
Sponsored by Redwood Living, this year’s Bash will feature costume contests, casino-style gaming, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drinks from Pickleback’s, food from Romeo’s and Corkscrew Saloon, auctions, raffles and live music from Medina’s Skinny Moo and Cleveland’s Breakfast Club. The night will also include appearances by comedian Bill Squire, DJ Pauly Moist and radio hosts Kathy Vogel and Dave Spano from 97.5 FM WONE.
Raffles and auctions will include autographed memorabilia from stars such as Taylor Swift, Michael Jordan and Al Pacino, along with prize packages from local businesses. The Best Costume winner will take home a $1,000 cash prize. VIP tables have already sold out, with about 500 general admission tickets remaining. Tickets are available at MedinaOddFellows.org; general admission is $75 and includes a $500 casino-style gaming credit.
While the primary beneficiary of the event is Special Olympics of Medina County, proceeds also support more than 40 other local charities.
Glenn Brant, who founded The Bash and serves as its chairman, said he created the event to give back to a community that has given so much to him. “The Odd Fellows have done so much for so many for over 180 years, but we can always do more,” Brant said. “I wanted to do something that would bring everyone together for a night to forget about life and just have some fun for a great cause. I’m glad it’s become such a popular event, because that means we can do more for the people who need it.”
The Medina Odd Fellows is a nonpolitical, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization (ID No. 34-0709717). Membership is open to all who share the group’s commitment to improving themselves and promoting the principles of friendship, love and truth.
