The Medina County Student Art Show will return March 1-31, celebrating Youth Art Month with a countywide showcase of student creativity.
Throughout the month, local businesses will serve as gallery spaces featuring artwork from students across Medina County. An opening reception was held Feb. 27 at Huntington Bank on Public Square to welcome families of participating students and give them a preview of where their artwork will be displayed.
Participating schools include Medina City Schools, Hickory Ridge Elementary and Huntington Elementary in Brunswick, Cloverleaf Elementary and Highland High School.
Student artwork will be displayed during regular business hours at Acme Fresh Market, All Fired Up!, Cool Beans Cafe, Cups Collective, Huntington Bank – Public Square, JK Gifts, The LilyNicholas Shoppe, Maureen Dabbieri – Allstate Insurance, Medina County Arts Council, Nibble, PJ Marley’s, Root Candles, Sully’s Irish Pub, Sweets & Geeks, The Farmer’s Table, The Grind Coffee Bar, The Raspberry & the Rose and VCS Salon.
By pairing student artists with local storefronts, the event creates a walkable art experience that highlights youth talent and the strength of Medina’s small-business community.
“Main Street Medina is proud to support the Medina County Student Art Show and the incredible talent of our local students,” said George Sam, executive director of Main Street Medina. “When our businesses open their doors to showcase student artwork, it brings energy, creativity and community connection to our Historic District.”
“The Medina County Student Art Show is a powerful reminder of the creativity and perspective our young artists bring to our community,” said Kelly Parks of the Medina County Arts Council. “Supporting youth art today helps build a vibrant cultural future for Medina County.”
Now in its ninth year, the show is made possible through the collaboration of Main Street Medina, Huntington Bank – Public Square and the Medina County Arts Council.
Community members are invited to visit participating businesses throughout March to celebrate the artistic achievements of Medina County students. For more information, visit medinabees.org.
