Medina County has mailed first-half 2025 property tax bills, with payments due by Feb. 27 to avoid penalties.

Medina County Treasurer John Burke announced that 78,728 first-half 2025 property tax bills have been mailed to county property owners. The payment deadline is Feb. 27, 2026. The total amount of real estate taxes billed for the full year is $412,675,472.

Taxpayers who do not receive a bill are encouraged to contact the treasurer’s office at 330-725-9748 or visit the treasurer’s website at medinacountytreasurer.com to look up their bill. Taxpayers should click “Search and Pay Taxes” in the left column to find the correct amount. An official tax bill may be printed for payment by mail or in person.

Payments may be made in person at the treasurer’s office, 144 N. Broadway, Medina, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will remain open until 6 p.m. on the Feb. 27 due date. Taxpayers must present the entire tax bill at the time of payment. Checks, cash and credit cards are accepted.

Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than Feb. 27 to avoid a 5% penalty. Payments made after March 9 will be assessed a 10% penalty.

Payments may also be made online at medinacountytreasurer.com, where taxpayers can print a receipt. Burke noted that online payments are “easy, safe, fast and convenient,” with several payment options available. Taxpayers may pay by electronic check ($1.50 fee), debit card (1.99% fee), credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express) or PayPal account (2.5% fee). Payments may also be made by phone at 1-888-607-8389 using electronic check or credit card. Vendor fees are paid directly to the service providers, and Medina County does not receive any portion of those fees.

Burke also noted that PayPal Credit offers a “bill me later” option through the treasurer’s website, allowing payment over six months with no interest. “We have seen some taxpayers take advantage of this opportunity to gain extra time to pay while still meeting the due date and avoiding late penalties,” Burke said. The option is subject to credit approval, and a 2.5% vendor fee applies.

For those paying by check, 24-hour drive-up drop boxes are available at the following locations:

  • Treasurer’s Office, County Administration Building, 144 N. Broadway St., Medina

  • Brunswick City Hall, 4095 Center Road, Brunswick

  • Lodi Library, 635 Wooster St., Lodi

  • Wadsworth Municipal Building, 120 Maple St., Wadsworth

Taxpayers should include the tax bill stub with their check.
