Claggett Middle School students walk to support local animal shelters

Eighth graders raise $500 and donate toys and supplies to Medina County Dog Shelter and SPCA

Claggett Middle School eighth graders raised more than $500 and donated supplies to support local animals through a walkathon benefiting the Medina County Dog Shelter and the Medina SPCA.

On Friday, Oct. 3, Claggett Middle School’s eighth-grade students laced up their sneakers for a great cause.

The students participated in a walkathon to support the Medina County Dog Shelter and the Medina SPCA. Under the guidance of social studies teacher Tricia Shuck and art teacher Laura Whitaker, several students used their creative talents to design artwork for the dog shelter — a thoughtful addition that was presented along with donations to representatives Vicki Grossenbacher and Chloe Franks.

In total, the eighth graders raised more than $500 in cash donations and collected hundreds of toys, treats and supplies for local animals in need.
