While Halloween may come around on Oct. 31, why not kick-start the spooky season with a little food and a whole lot of fun one week early this year?

The Darb Snyder Senior Center is inviting everyone to join the staff for an evening of merriment, food and Halloween fun during Halloween Music & Dinner Oct. 24 at the senior center from 4-7 p.m.

The night will feature a menu with a trio of choices: apple cider chicken, roasted sweet and white potatoes, peas and onion pearls, and dinner roll; meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and biscuit; and hillbilly chili, tossed salad and cornbread.

Any of the three meals also will include ambrosia salad, pumpkin roll, sugar cookie, Halloween punch, coffee and water.

Tickets to the event are $10 per meal, and advance sale tickets are needed for the dinner choices. Tickets and meal orders may be reserved by calling the center at 330-674-0580.

While the meals are a deal, there’s plenty of fun reserved for the whole family with the costume contest, where there will be prizes handed out for both adults and children for first place, second place and third place.

There will be trick or treat for the kids at 6 p.m. with seniors handing out plenty of treats, as well as music during the evening provided by disc jockey Terry Logsdon.

The evening will offer a blend of family fun that brings together young and old to celebrate the Halloween season.

All benefits from this event will go toward supporting the Holmes County Senior Center and its efforts to support Holmes County’s senior citizens.

The Darb Snyder Senior Center is located at 170 Parkview Drive across from Rodhe’s IGA.
