Loudonville Public Library announces September programs

Loudonville Public Library announced its upcoming September programs.

The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 for Labor Day.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and all those who get a new library card will receive a gift. A library card provides access to museum passes, games, fishing poles, book clubs, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures, technology, Wi-Fi and more.

The Friends of the Library meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. The program will feature Kate Peresie on nature journaling and is open to all.

Storytime, an interactive program for age 2-5 that includes stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts, will be held Tuesdays, Sept. 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 10 a.m. Caregivers must be present, and younger siblings are welcome to attend.

Pinterest Power - Fall Busted Canvas will be Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. or Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m. Sign-up is required with a limit of 12 per session.

Community Chess Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m.

Book Club to Go will begin Monday, Sept. 8, featuring “Yours Truly” by Abby Jimenez. Pick up a monthly kit with a great read, discussion questions and an activity to do on your own.

Tacos & Trivia - Fandom Frenzy Edition for teens in sixth grade through 12th grade will be Monday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. Sign-up is required with a limit of 12.

Kids Club for K-3 will meet Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 3:30 p.m. This is a new program with a hands-on activity each time, from building Legos and STEM to crafts and more.

Homeschool Hangout - Board Games & Popcorn will be Thursday, Sept. 11 at 2:30 p.m. Connect with the library and other homeschool families in the community. Supplies are limited.

Teen Take Home Cooking Challenge featuring Rice Krispies Treats will begin Monday, Sept. 15. This program is for sixth grade through 12th grade while supplies last.

Trivia Night will be Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.

Consumer Scams will be presented by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, which will share how to spot common scams and reduce your risk of identity theft, along with key warning signs and tips to help protect yourself and others, on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.

Mohican Naturalist Hour will be Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m. Check out some Ohio native mammal pelts and skulls and learn what features to look for that can help in identifying native furry critters.

Shrinky Dink Spooky Pins for first grade through eighth grade will be Thursday, Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Sign-up is required, with a limit of 12.

The adult book discussion of “The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife” by Anna Johnston will be Friday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. in the Golden Center.

Spice Club will begin Monday, Sept. 22, with a take-home kit available while supplies last.

Guess the Sips for teens will be Monday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. Teens will sample sodas. Sign-up is required with a limit of 12.

Cookie Decorating with Miss Amy’s Bakery will be Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. Sign-up is required with a limit of 20.

Global Sips for first grade through eighth grade will be Thursday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m. Children can sample drinks from around the world and learn facts about where they come from. Sign-up is required with a limit of 12.

Teen Take and Makes - Pressed Flower Bookmark will begin Monday, Sept. 29. Kits are available at the youth desk while supplies last and are first come, first served for sixth grade through 12th grade.
