A busy spring and summer slate of activities is already under way for Historic Downtown Millersburg, and two treks through the village are on tap, both including hoofing it on foot around town.

The first is the annual Millersburg Village Garage Sales Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.

The garage sales will include a map that is being made for patrons who want to shop throughout the two days.

“I’ve asked everyone interested in hosting a garage sale in HDM to submit their address to me, and I’ll make a map of every participant that will be available at the Chamber of Commerce,” HDM Executive Director Taylor Sigler said.

The two days should provide ample time for bargain shoppers to find all kinds of fascinating items.

The second event is the HDM Downtown Art Walk May 1, part of the First Fridays calendar of events.

Sigler said she is stoked about this event because it offers a unique opportunity to explore Historic Downtown Millersburg from a different perspective.

“We’re creating a progressive postcard that will feature each of the participating businesses in the walk,” Sigler said. “We will have a dozen or more participants, so it should make for a fun evening of walking around Millersburg and exploring different businesses.”

The one-of-a-kind postcard will feature the artwork of Ridge Rooms, owner of Mascot Syndicate in HDM. The renowned artist will create a postcard that can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce, with the after-hours event taking place from 5-8 p.m.

“Ridge is such a talented and cool artist, and she will design a really neat postcard,” Sigler said. “After people make their way through the entire list of participants, they will have a neat keepsake.”

Patrons can grab a postcard and hit the sidewalks, collecting a stamp at each participating business along the way.

Sigler said it’s fun to create new ways to explore HDM.

“Our hope is to come together as a community and find some unique ways to entice people to visit and explore Historic Downtown Millersburg,” Sigler said. “Hopefully, we will have some really nice weather and people can spend the evening enjoying everything we have to offer here in town.”
