Garaway girls bowling rolls to two IVC wins; Pirate boys fall in conference, hoops action
Clymer, Meek lead Lady Pirates past Indian Valley and Sandy Valley; boys bowling and basketball teams come up short.
The Garaway girls bowling team defeated Indian Valley 1,559-1,335 in an Inter-Valley Conference clash Dec. 1.
Harmony Clymer paced the Lady Pirates with a 361 series (192-169), followed by Erin Meek with a 305 (180-125).
Garaway picked up a 1,648-1,615 win over Sandy Valley in IVC play Nov. 25.
Clymer led the Pirates and all bowlers with a 363 series (205-158). Meek chipped in a 354 series (192-162).
Boys basketball
Garaway dropped its season opener on the road at West Holmes 53-48 in nonleague play on Dec. 2.
Leading the way for the Pirates in scoring was Jaxon Garber with 16 points. Tanner Rowe added 12, and Wylie Numbers chipped in with 11.
Boys bowling
Indian Valley picked up a 2,405-2,068 win over Garaway in an IVC battle Dec. 1.
Ethan Specht paced the Pirates with games of 201 and 194 for a 395 series. Corbin Clymer chipped in a 366 series (166-200) and Preston Weaver a 318 (141-177).
Garaway defeated Sandy Valley 1,730-1,560 in an IVC clash Nov. 25.
Leading the Pirates and all scorers was Clymer with games of 181 and 168 for a 349 series. Specht added a 330 series (161-169) while Weaver rolled a 326 (174-152).
Seventh grade boys basketball
Hiland defeated Garaway 28-22 on Dec. 1.
Braxton Stahl led the Pirates with 11 points.
