The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured Board of Directors announced the retirement of longtime Executive Director Pat Warther.

Warther began her tenure as executive director in August 2014 and has grown the clinic throughout the years, expanding services including a dental program in 2016 and extending eligibility from those living in Tuscarawas County to those also working in Tuscarawas County in 2023.

Warther’s path to TCWU began in various health care positions with Valley Manor Nursing Home and Morning View Care Center. She also was an active participant on the legislative and nursing committees of the Ohio Healthcare Association.

In 2001 she began working in administration for Altercare of Ohio and Schoenbrunn Healthcare. Warther has been a member of the Union Hospital Board of Trustees since 2015. She also served as the chairman of Access Tusc and was a support group volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Warther is a graduate of Akron City Hospital School of Nursing (1983) and Malone University (1997), later becoming a licensed nursing home administrator in 1998 and a board-certified case manager in 2013.

“On behalf of the board, we thank Pat for her many years of service to the Clinic for the Working Uninsured,” said Dawn Bielski, TCWU board president. “Under her extraordinary leadership, the clinic has grown in the types of services offered and the number of patients served. Pat has made immeasurable contributions to the lives of so many people and families in Tuscarawas County. Her legacy is forever etched into the hearts of the organization and our community.”

In retirement Warther plans to spend time with her husband Mark, their children and grandchildren. She looks forward to traveling and enjoying the company of family and friends, as well as continuing to be active in the community through various volunteer efforts.
