Not For Sale: One Step at a Time, in partnership with Walsh University, invites community members to participate in a personal protection class from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Birk Center for the Arts on the Walsh campus.
The session will be led by Dr. Michael Dunphy, vice president for academic affairs at Walsh, who is an experienced instructor dedicated to promoting safety, confidence and preparedness in everyday life.
This hands-on workshop will help participants learn practical self-defense techniques, develop situational awareness and build personal confidence. No prior experience is required. The class is open to the public and recommended for ages 12 and older. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The cost is $20 per person.
“Education and prevention are key to reducing vulnerability,” said Kathie Gray, president and co-founder of Not For Sale: One Step at a Time. “By teaching people how to recognize, de-escalate and respond to unsafe situations, we’re helping to build stronger, more resilient communities.”
