Lake Township zoning board grants variances for residential, commercial projects
Approvals include curb cut, parking adjustments, accessory structures and church expansion
At a public hearing Sept. 18, the Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals approved a request by applicant and property owner Cody Vaughn for an area variance for a second curb cut at his property at 13375 Gleneagles Ave. NW, located in a Low Density Residential (R-1) zone.
The board approved a request by applicant Campbell Construction Inc. and property owner Forward Interlock LLC for two area variances for parking stall size and elimination of required landscaping at the property at 9048 Meridian Circle NW, located in a General Industrial (I-2) zone.
The board approved a request by applicants and property owners Blake and Tara Grescovich for an area variance for a residential driveway in a commercial district at their property at 1520 Swamp St. NE, split-zoned in a Low Density Residential (R-1) and a General Commercial (C-2) zone.
The board approved a request by Russell and Melanie Bridges for a Home Occupation Type B and an area variance for maximum accessory structure size at their property at 2266 Royer St. NE, located in a Low Density Residential (R-1) zone.
The board approved a request by applicant John Elsey of GBC Design and property owner Evermore Church for an area variance for maximum accessory structure coverage for the property at 1470 Smith Kramer St. NE, located in a Low Density Residential (R-1) zone.
The next meeting of the Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at Township Hall, 12360 Market Ave. N. All meetings are open to the public.
Consisting of five members and one alternate, all appointed by the Lake Township Trustees, the board serves to hear and decide appeals, authorize variance requests, and issue or revoke conditional zoning certificates. Those who wish to speak at BZA hearings are asked to take an oath or affirmation and state their name and address for the record. Decisions of the board are final but may be appealed to the Stark County Court of Common Pleas.
