Greentown United Methodist Church will host a painting class fundraiser for its Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at 3088 State St. NW. Instruction begins at 5:45 p.m., with doors opening earlier for setup, and the event runs until 8:45 p.m.
Participants will create a fall-themed painting titled Fall Pumpkins under the direction of instructor Christa Moore, an art teacher and former Wine and Canvas artist. No prior art experience is needed, and all materials, including a 16-by-20-inch canvas, will be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring an apron or art shirt.
A minimum donation of $25 per person is requested to cover materials, with all proceeds supporting the shoebox ministry, which collects toys, school supplies and hygiene items for children in need worldwide. Additional donations are welcome but not required. Registration is due by Friday, Sept. 26, though late sign-ups may be available by contacting Cathy Moore at 330-354-4765.
Registration may be mailed to Greentown United Methodist Church, c/o Cathy Moore, P.O. Box 1, Greentown, OH 44630, with name, phone number, email and payment included. Payments can also be made via Zelle at cannmoo@aol.com or Venmo.
“It’s an opportunity to enjoy a fun, creative evening while making a difference in the life of a child,” organizers said.
