Step into the holiday season by joining the Quail Hollow Volunteer Association and Stark Parks for an afternoon of fun at the Stewart Manor House at Quail Hollow Park.

Pam Severa, QHVA board member and chair for Christmas at the Hollow, said the event “has been offered for over 40 years as a tradition for the community.” Rooms will sparkle with twinkling lights and festive garland.

Christmas at the Hollow invites the community to enjoy a festive, family-friendly holiday celebration at Quail Hollow Park Dec. 12-14.

The dates are Friday through Sunday, Dec. 12–14, from noon to 4 p.m. The park is located at 13480 Congress Lake Ave., Hartville, OH 44632. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $7 for ages 4 to 12, and free for children 3 and under. Cash is accepted at the gate and event, or attendees may preregister by credit card at QHVA.org under Events.

Organizers are planning a “DOG-GONE Good Time,” with attendees invited to search for hidden scavenger hunt items—playful pups tucked into the holiday décor—and submit their checklist for daily prize drawings. Some of the canines may be tricky to spot. This activity is for humans of all ages. No live dogs are permitted in the Manor House.

Christmas at the Hollow welcomes families to enjoy festive holiday décor, music, crafts and seasonal activities at Quail Hollow Park.

Visitors can enjoy a complimentary beverage and sweet treat in the living room while being serenaded by festive live music. Stark Parks will offer a free take-home craft, and the Christmas Shoppe will be open for holiday gift shopping.

Participants are encouraged to bring family and friends, as the activities are designed for all ages. “As this is the 50th anniversary year of the park, please be sure to attend to see all that the many volunteers have done to make the 50th anniversary year of the park a special and unique event,” Severa said. Quail Hollow Park features more than 700 acres of rolling meadows, marshes, and pine and deciduous woods surrounding a 40-room house. Scenic woodland trails, gardens and the Stewart Manor House offer a variety of natural and cultural experiences. The property was sold to the state to become a nature and educational center in 1975, and although operated as a state park since then, Stark Parks began managing it in January 2016.

The former H.B. Stewart family home is used for educational and community programs and events. Fishing is available at the 2-acre pond to the left of the split on the main park driveway. A valid Ohio fishing license is required. Picnic areas with tables and grills are located in the center of the park. A Wind Phone Booth, located off the Nature For All Trail, offers a disconnected phone for calling lost loved ones, providing a peaceful, private way to process grief.

The Quail Hollow Volunteer Association offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to enhance park programs and support the site. The association raises funds, accepts donations to aid park operations and serves as a link between the park and the surrounding community.
