It’s what we do in Harrison County.

The Harrison County Baseball Association along with innumerable volunteers and friends came together to honor the memory of long-time baseball coach, Jeff Snyder. Coach Snyder lost his battle with cancer recently. He was the husband of Chris Snyder and father of Tucker and Turner Snyder. He coached for ten years, touching the lives of many youths in Harrison County.

The Harrison Central Youth Baseball Benefit was held Saturday, May 5, at Mazeroski Field. Approximately 16 teams ranging in age from 3-14 years old held games. Conotton Valley and Freeport teams played as visitors. Approximately 175 youth participated in the games.

At least 60 items were donated by friends and area businesses for raffle and bid. Food was plentiful and there was no shortage of volunteers.

Harrison Central Youth Baseball Association President Ryan Wood had a key role in organizing this event. Wood coached alongside Snyder for years. “He was very passionate about his boys and his family. He loved baseball, coaching, and helping kids learn about the game. He was a great role model and leader in our baseball community,” stated Wood.
