Union Local kindergarten pre-registration open now
The pre-registration program is the first step for parents of kindergarten students for next year
Telephone pre-registration for Union Local 2026-27 kindergarten students will continue through March 20.
Parents of children eligible to attend kindergarten in August should call the elementary school between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. during the weeks of March 2-20. To be eligible, a child must be 5 years old by Aug. 19. Call 782-1384, 782-1385 or 782-1374.
The pre-registration program is the first step for parents of kindergarten students for next year.
State-required immunizations include two MMR, four polio, five DPT, the hepatitis B series, and two chickenpox vaccines or date of exposure.
These immunizations are available free of charge to those who are underinsured through the Belmont County Health Department. Call for an appointment Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The health department can be reached at 695-1202.
In accordance with state law, all children must have successfully completed kindergarten before they will be admitted to first grade.
Once telephone registration for kindergarten is completed, the parent or guardian will be notified by letter of the date and time for the child’s kindergarten screening, which will be scheduled during the last week of school: May 15, 18, 19, 20 or 21.
Union Local Schools also provides a preschool program for children age 4. If you know anyone with a child from birth to 4 years old, have them call the school to get their child on the Little Jets Registry. Parents may contact the school office at 740-782-1384.
