School project turns into theatre support
From an early age, Zane Kuczricka has been an entertainer, making his debut as an actor on the historical stage at Deersvillle Theatre some seven years ago. When the acting bug bit this talented young man, he looked at the opportunity as merely a way to express his desire to entertain. But as he grew in both height and knowledge, his desire to support the theater did also.
Zane, who will be a junior at Claymont High School this fall, recently found himself in a situation where he could support the theater that has given so much to him and his family.
What started as a school project through its Junior Achievement program, requiring Zane and three fellow students to start a business in the style of the show “Shark Tank” featuring entrepreneurs with dreams of making it in the dog-eat-dog world of business, grew to a real business. Age-Well sells kits for people over the age of 50 or anyone wishing to develop healthy life habits.
Fellow Claymont students Cambria Edwards, Ellie Baker and Peyton Halsey are also involved in the business which has a website, Agewellja.com, available to those who are interested.
“Donating my profits was an easy choice because I’ve dedicated the past seven years to the Deersville Player and the Deersville community,” Zane stated. “I’ve formed strong relationships there and I want to support its growth.”
Zane’s donation was a welcome surprise to theater leaders.
“The Kuczricka family has supported this theater in so many ways throughout the years,” noted Deersville Theater President Marsha Dodds. “In fact, three generations of the family hit the stage just this past week in our latest production. Zane is a wonderful actor, yet his talents and compassion for others are much more than just on stage. We sincerely appreciate his decision to support the theater with the monies from his school project. We also extend our thanks to his fellow students who worked on the project. We here at the theater love to see young people involved in community service and their willingness to support those who have supported them.”
