Romshak wins fourth week of match play bowling
A total of 23 bowlers participated, with each advancing to match play
The fourth week of head-to-head match play bowling competition concluded Friday, Dec. 12.
A total of 23 bowlers participated, with each advancing to match play after completing a two-game qualifying series. Cody Peck earned the top qualifying position with a 499 series, which also secured him a complimentary entry into the upcoming match play.
In the semifinals, Jackson Romshak defeated Travis Carroll 265-173, while Jake Saffell advanced with a 213-190 win over Shane Arnold. Romshak went on to claim the championship, edging Saffell 236-228 in the final. Romshak’s winning score marked an improvement over his performance from the previous week.
The payout for week four was $150 for first place, $75 for second place and $40 each for third and fourth places.
The event was sponsored by Crow’s Metal Recycling of Triadelphia, West Virginia.
“The competition is set to resume next Friday at 9 p.m., with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the finals in week 17,” said organizer Rayann Runevich. “Participants who bowl at least seven weeks without securing a win during the previous 15 weeks will qualify for the nonchampions week in week 16. JR Lanes thanks all participants and looks forward to seeing everyone next week.”
