As of Jan. 6, the Harrison Central Lady Husky basketball team sits in fourth place in the OVAC Class 4A standings.

“The 4A OVAC is a very competitive conference,” said Harrison Central head girls basketball coach Chace Smith. “We are glad to be where we are at this time of the year. We have a very tough January schedule that will prepare us for the postseason and for OVACs. With the mix of youth and new faces, we are still learning each other and our chemistry, so every game is an important step forward for our program. Regardless of our OVAC standing, I am proud of how our girls continue to show up and work hard every single day. They are a very tough group of athletes and young ladies.”

Union Local is in first place. The Jets have played 10 games and are undefeated. They have scored 644 points, averaging 64.400 per game.

Indian Creek is second with an 10-1 record in 11 games. The Redskins lead the conference in scoring with 678 points, averaging 61.636 per game.

Edison is third at 10-0. The Wildcats have scored 588 points, averaging 58.800 per game.

Oak Glen is fifth at 4-2. The Golden Bears have scored 220 points, averaging 36.667 per game.

Bellaire is sixth at 4-8. The Lady Big Reds have scored 266 points, averaging 22.167 per game.

Cambridge is seventh at 3-8. The Bobcats have played 11 games and scored 152 points, averaging 13.818 per game.

Linsly is eighth at 1-5. The Cadets have scored 68 points, averaging 11.333 per game.

Buckeye Local is ninth at 4-6. The Panthers have scored 226 points, averaging 20.545 per game.

East Liverpool is 10th at 1-7. The Potters have scored 74 points, averaging 6.770 per game.

Weir is 11th at 1-8. The Red Riders have scored 70 points, averaging 7.778 per game.

St. Clairsville is 12th at 1-8. The Red Devils have scored 30 points, averaging 3.333 per game.
