Holloway groups deliver Christmas cheer to elderly residents
34 Christmas care packages were assembled and distributed this year
The Holloway Volunteer Fire Department and Holloway Methodist Church annually deliver Christmas cheer to the community’s oldest residents. Thanks to the two organizations and the generosity of others, 34 Christmas care packages were assembled and distributed this year. The holiday gifting tradition has continued for many years, with donations provided by members of the HVFD, Holloway Methodist Church and friends of Holloway.
Both groups expressed gratitude for donations from Koch Candies, Freeport; River View Gardens, Bellaire; Yost Accounting; and other supporters. The packages were assembled at the Holloway VFD Hall and hand-delivered Saturday, Dec. 20, by HVFD members and volunteers using the Holloway E-Squad so recipients knew they were from friends of Holloway. Using the E-Squad also added extra awareness and excitement as the Christmas care packages were delivered.
